How to present a Christ on the cross

Moreover, each Christ has its specific characteristics. Some have parallel legs, while others have crossed feet. Each position requires a different custom-made stand.
The display maker's job is to adapt to the morphology of Christ's body. This is no small task. Every detail matters. This is what is called a morphological stand.

The two sculptures are very different, and so are their stands. A custom-made stand is essential for this type of object to perfectly meet your presentation needs.

Here is a detailed look at the presentation of the two custom-made stands.
In these two examples, we can see the position of the two Christs with open arms, but we also notice that the bronze Christ has parallel legs while the golden Christ has his feet positioned one over the other.
These differences greatly influence the final custom-made stand.

For the custom-made bronze stand, it was easy to "hide" the stand's support bar behind Christ's back. This solution was not possible for the custom-made stand of the golden Christ, as the overall composition was much more open. The solution found was to follow the contours of Christ's body as closely as possible, with the support bar running along his body and conforming to his shape.
For these two crucifixes, the solutions found were radically different.
Furthermore, we worked with steel and brass for the creation of these custom-made stands.
The materials and patina colors were chosen by our clients.

For this Christ on the cross, the client's choice is radically different.
We already note that Christ's feet are parallel.
The client chose a plexiglass base with a gilded brass rear support rod for their custom-made stand.
We attached two axes to this rod to support the arms.

It is essential when creating a custom-made stand to discuss with the client the crucial question of whether the artwork can be drilled.
The hole made to hold the artwork in place is never detrimental to the overall piece. Rest assured, if the artwork cannot be drilled, there are always alternative solutions.
For this example, drilling was not possible, so we reused the existing holes in the hands.

Custom steel stands for crucifixes: personalize your stand

The advantage of this type of creation is that you can

choose the color of the patina yourself.

For this Christ on the cross, we opted for supporting the artwork under the arms.

Indeed, the arms were too thin to accommodate a support frame.

A pop Christ on his custom-made stand

Don't hesitate to share your wishes for custom display making with us.
Indeed, for this example, our client arrived at the shop with a crucifix without a cross, which he himself described as uninteresting.

This client wanted to create something pop.

With him, we painted the Christ in Klein blue and inserted a brass rod into existing holes, which was then inserted into a wooden base. Afterwards, the wooden base will be repainted in gold.

Articulated Christs

Recently we discovered a new way to represent Christ.

These are articulated Christs. This representation is very confidential. It was only used for very wealthy Italians who wanted to decorate their private chapel.
