Discover the different stages of creating a custom base
Custom Base Design
Creating a custom base always requires a more or less long period of reflection.
When our relationships with clients are regular and reliable, as is the case with Galerie Alexandre Piatti, this phase becomes shorter.
Indeed, when we design custom bases for galleries, for example, we discuss at length to precisely determine their needs. Aesthetic needs, but also the need for object security.
Over time, we find that each client has a different need in terms of custom bases. Some want something extravagant, so we'll go with brass, while others prefer something more understated.
Each client has their own style.

Amphora on custom base
The choice of custom base also depends on the shape of the object. For this stone amphora, we chose a square wooden base with a short rod.
It would have been incongruous to make a longer rod as an airy appearance is not the goal sought when basing this type of object. However, all fantasies are also possible.

Stone fountain on custom base
For this sculpture, a fountain head, the choice fell on a rather high-end custom base.
High-end in basing means using brass. Compared to the base above, this one is much finer and the support rod is taller; the need here is truly different. The objective here was to lighten the work and try to bring it to the height it was originally.

More or less complex custom bases
This is what a custom base looks like without the artwork it is supposed to support.
Sometimes certain basing mechanisms are quite complex. In this example, two squares were assembled to make a small base within the base.
The term custom-made has never been more apt.
