Custom-made base for the Alexandre Piatti gallery
Discover the different stages of creating a custom base
Custom base design
Creating a custom base always requires a more or less lengthy reflection phase.
When our clients have regular and reliable relationships, as is the case with the Alexandre Piatti gallery , this phase becomes shorter.
Indeed, when we design custom bases for galleries, for example, we discuss at length to determine precisely what the needs are. Aesthetic needs, but also the need for the object's safety.
Over time, we've noticed that each client has a different need for a custom base. Some want something extravagant, so we'll opt for brass, while others prefer something more understated.
Each client has their own style.

Custom-made amphora on base
The choice of a custom base is also determined by the shape of the object. For this stone amphora, we chose a square wooden base with a short stem.
It would have been incongruous to make a longer stem, as the aerial aspect is not the goal sought when basing this type of object. After all, all fantasies are also possible.

Custom-made stone fountain on base
For this sculpture, a fountain head, the choice fell on a rather high-end custom-made base.
The top of the range in plinths is the use of brass . Compared to the plinth above, this one is much thinner and the support rod is higher, which is a really different need. Here, the goal was to lighten the work and try to bring it to the height at which it was originally.

Custom-made bases of varying complexity
This is what a custom-made base looks like without the artwork it's supposed to support.
Sometimes some base mechanisms are quite complex. In this example, two squares were assembled to make a small base within the base.
The term tailor-made has never been so apt.
