Custom plinths for the Galerie des Gobelins

For the "Le Dernier Sacre" exhibition presented at the Galerie des Gobelins, under the aegis of Mobilier National, La Bulle designed numerous custom presentation and security devices to enhance exceptional historical artworks. Our involvement included the creation of plinths for the insignia of power, the royal scepter, and coins, as well as discreet mounting systems for crowns, busts, and objects from the Royal Feast.

Custom plinths for the National Museum of the Châteaux de Malmaison and Bois-Préau

For the temporary exhibition "Treasures and Curiosities: Homage to the Donors of Malmaison (1905-1980)," presented at the National Museum of the Châteaux de Malmaison and Bois-Préau, La Bulle supported the scenographic teams in designing custom plinths and mounting systems adapted to the exhibited works. Created in close collaboration with the museum, these supports aimed to highlight art objects of great finesse, several of which belonged to Empress Josephine. Each plinth and support was custom-designed to offer a presentation that is both discreet, elegant, and respectful of conservation constraints, giving full prominence to the artworks and the museum's display.

Plinths for Galerie Alexandre Piatti

La Bulle regularly collaborates with Galerie Alexandre Piatti to design custom plinths adapted to artworks and archaeological objects. Each project is the result of in-depth discussions with the gallery to define the most relevant solution, both aesthetically and technically. This relationship of trust, built over the years, allows us to precisely meet the expectations of each exhibition.

What plinths do we offer for museums?

As you can see from the projects presented above, the plinths and supports we create cover a wide variety of needs. We work on the presentation of small objects, such as coins, jewelry, or precious stones, as well as works weighing several hundred kilograms, such as sculptures, statues, or furniture elements.

• Ready-to-use supports: these are already manufactured and can be used immediately. You just need to place the object on them.

• Adaptable supports: some display stands exist in standard formats but require adjustment to perfectly fit the dimensions of the object. This is particularly the case for certain coin or sea bean holders, which can be adapted with a simple manipulation.

• Completely custom-made plinths: after analyzing the object and your needs, we design one or more plinths specifically manufactured for your project, taking into account aesthetic, technical, and conservation constraints.

Unlimited customization

There is no universal plinth for presenting a work of art. Each project is designed down to the smallest detail to obtain a support that naturally integrates with the object it enhances. The possibilities for customization are almost infinite: choice of materials (Plexiglas, brass, steel, wood...), colors, finishes, shapes, dimensions, and mounting systems. Each element is carefully studied to find the right balance between aesthetics, stability, and discretion.

Beyond the support itself, the entire presentation is conceived as a whole. The same artwork can be staged in different ways depending on the message to be conveyed, the visitor's journey, or conservation constraints. The success of a plinth depends on the combination of numerous parameters which, once brought together, allow for the creation of a presentation perfectly adapted to the object.

The exhibition environment also plays an essential role. The architecture of the venue, the scenography, the materials present, the play of light, the colors, and the general atmosphere directly influence the design choices. Our goal is to create plinths that interact with their environment.
